Career Highlights:

  • He was the rookie-of-the-year in 1967.
  • He made the American League All Star team an incredible 18 seasons in a row!
  • He won the American League batting championship seven times, including four years in a row from 1972 through 1975.
  • He won the American League MVP award in 1977, making a serious run at the fabled .400 batting avg for a season.
  • He is one of the very few players (32 currently) who have made the 3,000 hit club.
