Hi everyone! Episode four of the Three Strikes…yer OUT! podcast is out now and available on apple podcasts in iTunes. Next up, a biography of one of the most powerful players ever, Washington Senators slugger, Frank Howard! This guy could put the ball into orbit!
Career Highlights:
- He was the 1960 National League Rookie of the Year.
- He was a 4-time All-Star.
- He was a 2-time American League Home Run leader.
- He was a World Series Champion with the Dodgers in 1963.
- He still has the record for hitting the most home runs in one week…hitting an amazing 10 home runs in 20 at bats!.
- He was famous for hitting many documented 500 foot home runs!
This is a photo of the Oakland Coliseum that is marked with a red “X” where Frank Howard’s massive homerun landed in the iceplant that a good buddy of mine actually witnessed! This homerun was hit somewhere in the 1969-1971 timeframe. See the 2nd flagpole from the left just near the Michelin sign. Awesome shot!
