Since it is October and the World Series is upon us, how about a biography of possibly the greatest World Series pitcher of all time, Bob Gibson?! Owner of the all-time live-ball ERA record (1.12), this guy is one of the best ever!
Career Highlights:
- He was an 9-time All-Star.
- He won the Gold Glove 9 times in a row as a pitcher.
- He was the 2nd player ever to get 3,000 strikeouts.
- He was a 2-time National League Cy Young Award winner.
- He won the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 1968.
- He was a World Series Champion twice with the Cardinals.
- He still holds the record for Most Strikeouts in a World Series game (17).
- And…he still has the record for the lowest ERA in a season (1.12) in the live ball era in Major League Baseball!
