Known by the colorful and accurate nicknames “The Franchise” and “Tom Terrific”, Tom Seaver won the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 1967 and was a huge part of bringing the New York Mets their first world championship in 1969. This fantastic pitcher was a 12-time All-Star, won 3 NL Cy Young Awards, and is the Mets’ all-time leader in wins.

  • He holds the record for consecutive 200-strikeout seasons with nine (1968–1976)
  • He is one of only two players to reach 300 wins, 3,000 strikeouts, with an earned run average under 3.00
  • And he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992 with the highest percentage of votes (98.84%) up to that time
